The Blessed Time of Year

This is the time of year that we come together to celebrate the many accomplishments that we have achieved over the past year while we help those in need.
While we gather to eat and toast out the end of the year, we ask that you consider the struggles that many go through to achieve a better life for themselves and their family.
Please join us at Conejo Gardens to meet others and to form closer bonds with everyone over a delicious meal and participating in the White Elephant Gift Exchange to share the spirit of giving during this Christmas.

🎁 White Elephant Gift Exchange 🎁

Brace yourselves… it’s time for the annual holiday tradition where logic goes out the window and questionable gift choices shine! Bring a wrapped gift—anything from “surprisingly useful” to “what-on-earth-is-this-and-why-does-it-exist?”
Once the game begins, it’s every elf for themselves. You’ll witness dramatic gift snatching, suspicious alliances, and at least one person pretending they totally wanted that glow-in-the-dark garden flamingo.
Will you end the night with a treasured keepsake? A bizarre conversation starter? A rubber chicken wearing a tiny sweater? Only the White Elephant knows.
Prepare for laughter, light chaos, and the emotional rollercoaster of watching your favorite gift get stolen by someone you thought you trusted. 🎄😂✨

Bring A Gift
Each guest that wishes to participate should bring one wrapped gift with a value of no more than $25.00 to contribute to common gift pile. Only guests bringing a gift can participate in the White Elephant Gift Exchange.
Couples can play solo or as a couple. If playing solo, each person needs to bring a gift.

Draw A Number
Participants will draw numbered coins from Santa Claus's bag to determine the order they will pick or steal gifts. Smallest number will go first.

Gather Around
Participants should sit in a circle or line where they can see the common gift pile. To make things easier, everyone should sit in the order in which they will take their turns.

The First Person
Participant #1 chooses a gift from the common gift pile and opens it in front of everyone.

Subsequent Guests
Next participant can either choose a new wrapped gift or "steal" the gift from any previous participant.
The participant who had their gift stolen can then choose a new gift or steal from another participant.
The game continues in numerical order, with each participant having the option to open a new gift or steal an opened one.

Ending Of Game
After all participants have played, participant #1 will have the option to swap their opened gift at the very end.
All gifts can only be stolen once.

Help Others to Celebrate Christmas

We have partnered with Big Mike of San Diego to raise funds for Casa de Luz San Diego, which is a sister organization of Casa de Luz TJ, a collective house open to LBGTQ+ refugees who left their home country in search of a better life. Casa de Luz SD raises money for Casa de Luz TJ so they can offer a safe haven for people who lived in fear of persecution because of their sexual orientation or gender identification.
